Barack Obama will be airing an ad in 24 states tonight during the Super Bowl called “Join”. So far the only location with the video is the NY Times.
WILMINGTON, Del. – While Senator Barack Obama watches the Super Bowl tonight at home in Chicago, television viewers in 24 states will be able to watch him.
A week ago, Mr. Obama’s campaign decided to purchase TV advertising in local markets for the Super Bowl. It is far less expensive than purchasing a national commercial – who can compete with Budweiser? – but nonetheless it is a pricey investment on one of the most expensive night’s of the advertising year.
The 30-second spot, titled “Join,” is a fast-paced commercial with Mr. Obama speaking under a musical track while images of him fill the screen. From political rallies in America to addressing a sprawling crowd during a trip to Africa in 2006, with bullhorn in hand, Mr. Obama introduces himself as a fresh solver of domestic and global problems.
